Why should I register and what do you do with my details?
A.

We ask for your address and golf details so that you if you choose to subscribe, you details can be automatically filled into the entry form when you enter an open.

Remember that your deatils get filled into the entry form, so it's important to use your real name, your club and your correct handicap.

Our database is secure and your data is NOT shared with any third parties, outside agencies, or affiliates of any kind.  If you wish further clarification, you can view our Terms and Conditions page.

How do I enter an Open?
A.

Once you have performed a search on an Open, you can click on the name of the golf club where the event is taking place, and this will bring up an entry form, with all your details already filled in.   Just print this out, sign it, and send it to the golf club.  Some golf clubs are preparing to accept entry via email, and this will soon be an option on the weeyellowbook.com.

We also provide a printer-friendly version of the entry form which you can print off and copy for later use.

What is a Golf Week?
A.

Golf Weeks are generally a series of week-long events at a particluar golf club. Typically this will include a day of greensomes, foursomes and strokplay.

Another common format is the 4-day and 5-day open.  This is very often 36 holes of strokeplay qualification, with the best 16 scores in each section going on to matchplay knockout.  Many Scottish courses have a practice day on a Monday, and then four days of golf. There are also usually consolation rounds for non-qualifiers, and the prizes are always good.

Some courses, especially in the North, have 5-day opens.  The format is the same except that there are 32 qualifiers in each section and the finals take place over 36 holes on the 5th day.

I can't find an open I am searching for.
A.

Wee Yellow Book has over 1, 950 events in its database this year, but not all golf clubs submit all of their opens to us. Some clubs fail to meet our submission deadline, or have for one reason or another failed to register their events with us.

If clubs do send us their events details AFTER the book deadline, we post the events on the noticeboard, and then add them in to the database.

I forgot my password, what can i do?
A.

You can create a new one by clicking on the 'retrieve password' option at the top righthand corner of this website.  Rememebr that you must know your username in order to do this.

We recommend that you reregister if you have forgotten your username.

A considerable amount of administration time is required to search for, find, and then email back registrants their username.  At the start of the season, many hundreds of registrants email us with this problem, and re-registerign is the fastest and most efficient soltuion.

Some of my details have changed, how do i update them?
A.

You need to login using your username and password.  Then  click 'edit profile'.  You will go to a page where you can update your details.  This is handy when you need to update your playing handicap!
