Foreword

The last year or so has been a tough one for the golf industry, but Scotland's golfing scene is thriving.

Having won the 2008 World Amateur Championship, our elite amateurs followed that up in 2009 by becoming European Amateur Team winners.  Ladies golf is also producing good results, and our current crop of professionals are starting to make their mark on the various tours.

After a cold winter and such a long layoff, club golfers will be desperate for the season to get going, and these pages list more events than ever – more than 1,950.

Hopefully, with help from the Wee Yellow Book, many golfers will continue to travel up and down the country in 2010 and brave the elements to enjoy the thrill and companionship of playing in amateur opens on our many wonderful courses.

Scott Knowles – Non-playing Scotland Team Captain.

A Note on Events

Like many publications, the Wee Yellow Book has a tight deadline.  Our cut-off date for 2010 was the first week in January - a week later than in previous years.

Even so, some clubs didn't manage to get their dates to us.  They won’t appear in the printed book.

If your club is amongst these, the events in your fixtures list which didn't make the book will be added to the search facility and will be listed on the Noticeboard page.

Every effort is taken to describe the events as accurately as possible.  It's not uncommon for a club to send us events information which contains errors.  Clubs also change dates, formats and prices, and our website will carry details of these changes as and when we receive them.

Changes are posted on the Noticeboard page, which is only viewable by subscribers.

If you are in doubt about the format or cost of an event, we suggest you contact the club in question to confirm.

Have a great golfing season
WYB.
